Right now my favorite place for burritos in San Francisco is Brisas de Acapulco.
This restaurant has kept their burritos consistently good for the past 5 years or more. They are a good size, they are made to order (some places just scoop up previously cooked meat), and they use fresh avocado (instead of a watered down concoction of avocado and sauce). It is also nice because you get chips and salsa as you sit down at a table, and you can ask for more if your done with it. They also have this awesome coffee. It tastes like it has a hint of pecan, or almond.
Other good dishes:
Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo which are prawns cooked in butter and come with rice, beans.
Pupusas are always fun to order here because they are so cheap!! Around $2 each, and they come with salsa and “curtido”, which is shredded cabbage and tastes slightly sour with a hint of oregano (i love it).
Sopa Siete Mares. It is a seafood soup of: potatoes, celery, clams, crab, catfish, prawns, octopus and other things. It is served with freshly made tortillas. The idea is that it has 7 different seafood ingredients. But if you want to keep clean, this is not the item to order. You have to peel the prawns, and crack the crab.
They don’t have a parking lot. There is a parking lot next door, some people park there, but I would not risk it. So you have to find metered parking. If you can’t find metered parking in front of the restaurant, I suggest you look for a spot on Cesar Chavez St.
Brisas de Acapulco is on 3137 Mission St (at Cesar Chavez St.), San Francisco.
You can also order your food ahead of time for pick-up. (415) 826-1496
